Our Open Access Policy

Scixa is committed to the principles of open science. All articles published on our platform are immediately and permanently free for everyone to read, download, copy, distribute, and use, provided that appropriate attribution is given to the authors and the source. We do not charge readers or their institutions for access. Authors retain copyright of their work and can choose from various Creative Commons licenses to specify how others may use their content.

Free Access

All content is freely available immediately upon publication, with no subscription or paywall barriers.

Author Rights

Authors retain copyright and can choose the license that best suits their needs, from the most permissive to more restrictive options.

Freedom to Reuse

Readers are free to share, adapt, and build upon the work, as long as they provide appropriate attribution.

Quality Assured

Open access does not mean lower standards. All articles undergo rigorous peer review before publication.

We offer authors a choice of Creative Commons licenses to specify how their work can be used. These licenses balance openness with proper attribution and protection of author rights.

Faster Dissemination

Research is available immediately upon publication, accelerating the pace of scientific discovery and enabling faster application of findings.

Public Engagement

Tax-funded research becomes accessible to the public who funded it, increasing transparency and public trust in science.

Author Visibility

Open access increases your visibility as an author, leading to more collaboration opportunities, invitations, and professional recognition.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does open access mean?

Open access means that research outputs are disseminated online, free of cost, and free of most copyright and licensing restrictions. Anyone with an internet connection can read, download, copy, and distribute the work.

Does open access affect peer review quality?

No. Open access is about access, not quality control. All articles published on Scixa undergo the same rigorous peer review process regardless of access model. In fact, open access can enhance quality through increased scrutiny and post-publication review.

Do authors have to pay to publish open access?

At Scixa, we do not charge authors for open access publication. We believe that open access should not create financial barriers for authors. Our platform is supported by institutional partnerships and voluntary contributions.

What rights do I retain as an author?

You retain full copyright to your work. You choose the Creative Commons license that best reflects how you want others to use your work. You can post your article on your personal website, institutional repository, or anywhere else.

Can I publish commercially with open access?

Yes, depending on the license you choose. If you select CC BY or CC BY-SA, others can use your work commercially. If you prefer to restrict commercial use, you can choose CC BY-NC or CC BY-NC-SA.

How do I cite open access articles?

Cite open access articles the same way you would cite any other scholarly work. Include author names, title, journal, year, volume, issue, pages, and DOI. The fact that it's open access doesn't change citation format.
